After School with the YMCA
Research shows that kids who participate in After School programs are more successful in academics, are healthier and more often maintain positive behaviors.
In the YMCA After School program, kids engage in physical, learning and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve. In addition to supplementing what they have learned in school, they participate in interactive learning models that engage critical thinking skills, get assistance with their homework, have a chance to socialize with each other and form long-lasting friendships that enhance their development, growth and self-confidence.
After School youth are involved in a diverse range of activities including: a daily snack, homework time, arts and crafts, daily devotions/character development, fitness activities, sports, indoor activities and outdoor activities. Youth get a chance to interact with other children in a safe, structured environment outside of the classroom.
