YMCA ChildWatch is a drop-off service that members and their guests can use while using the facility. Your children are provided with a positive social experience in a secure, happy environment. ChildWatch is staffed by loving and conscientious paid staff and volunteers. Staff are CPR and First Aid certified. All staff and volunteers are fully trained and references are checked. Low ratios are implemented at all times. Effective December 2nd, 2024 Childwatch will not available for Nationwide Members.

- Children are expected to be well behaved and safe while in Childwatch. If a child refuses to follow instructions or directions from staff, parent(s) will be asked to pick up their child immediately.
- Childwatch and Nursery ratios (Staff:Children)
o Pickens YMCA – 1:8 (Age 6 weeks to 10 years old)
o Easley YMCA – Room 1 Nursery – 1:6 (Age 6 weeks to 4 years old)
o Easley YMCA – Room 2 Elementary – 1:15 (Age 5-10 years old)
o Powdersville YMCA – Room 1 Nursery – 1:6 (Age 6 weeks to 4 years old)
o Powdersville YMCA – Room 2 Elementary – 1:15 (Age 4-10 years old) - Attendance is based on a first come, first serve basis.
- There is a time limit of 90 minutes per child.
- All diapers, wipes, bottles and other necessities must be supplied by the
parent/guardian. - No food is allowed in the ChildWatch area (except bottles).
- Each child must be in our system prior to using ChildWatch. A secure digital check-in system is utilized for their safety.
- If your child is sick (fever, throwing up, diarrhea, etc), they will not be able to stay in ChildWatch.
- Parents must stay on the property.
- Devices are allowed in Childwatch but staff has the right to ask children to put them away. Inappropriate content is not allowed (videos/games). The YMCA is not responsible for devices that are lost, stolen or damaged.
- If there is a medical emergency, the staff will call 911 then will attempt to contact the parents by phone or inside the YMCA.
- Nationwide members are not eligible to use Childwatch.
- Guests are welcome to use Childwatch but should allow for 15-20 minutes for them to be added to the system for check-in.
- Failure to follow these policies may results in loss of Childwatch privileges for a member.
