Throughout the duration of the party, there will be a YMCA staff member who will assist with set up, clean up, and any other needs your party may have. They are there to serve you and your guests, so please don’t hesitate to ask for assistance.  

As a reminder, semi-private pool parties means the YMCA members and guests can use the pools during the party.  However, the party will have private access to the covered picnic area located next to the play pool.

All pool parties are allowed up to 20 swimmers. If you would like to have more than 20 swimmers, there is an additional $25 fee to bring in another Lifeguard.  The request for an additional lifeguard must be submitted to the Aquatics Director via email at [email protected].

PARTY GUIDELINES 

• All parties have a two hour limit.  The first hour in the pool and the second in the picnic area.
• Our picnic area will be available 15 minutes prior to your party for set up.
• The party must end and clean-up completed when the scheduled end time arrives.
• The lifeguards have full authority to enforce all rules.
• Before your party begins, one of the lifeguards will speak with the swimmers. Please be sure to inform your guests that they will need to wait pool side so that the lifeguards can go over the rules before swimming.
• The Swim Test will be conducted after the Lifeguard goes over the pool rules.

SWIM TEST POLICY

All children age 14 and under who are swimming during a pool party, pool rental, special event or program swimming (Day Camp, Afterschool) must take a swim test prior to entering the pool for recreational swimming.

Swim Test consists of:

• Jumping in from the side of the pool and perform a head submersion.
• MUST adequately swim the length of the pool (25yds) UNASSISTED.
• Tread/Float (keep head above water) for 15 seconds

*Swimmers who do not adequately complete the test or who refuse to take the test will be considered a non-swimmer.

Non-Swimmers will be given a red  bracelet to wear to identify them as a non-swimmer.

Swimmers who pass the swim test will be given a green bracelet to identify them as a swimmer.

Non-Swimmers must wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket at all times while swimming OR be within arms reach of a parent or caregiver.

Passing or Failing the swim tests are up to the discretion of the lifeguard.

POOL RULES **Read all posted rules and regulations before entering the pool**

• No diving or flipping. Diving blocks are for swim team use only with swim team Coach supervision.
• No glass or animals in the pool area.
• No hypoxic training (extended breath-holding or underwater lap swimming). 
• No horseplay, running, playing on ladders/stairs/ramp/railings, throwing swimmers or riding on shoulders.
• No hanging on or swimming across lap lanes. 
• No chewing gum or eating while in the pool. 
• Recreational swimmers must not swim in the lane of a lap swimmer. 
• Swimmers must wear appropriate swim attire. 
• Pool will close for 30 minutes after thunder and/or if lightning strikes within 10 miles.
• No large inflatables (larger than 3ftx3ft)
• Must be at least 15 years or older to swim unsupervised. 
• To supervise another swimmer, one must be 18 years or older. 

 REFUND POLICIES

• If you have to cancel 14 or more days before the party, a full refund will be given.
• If you cancel 7-13 days before the party, only 1/2 of the fee will be refunded.
• If you cancel less than 7 days from the party date, no refund will be given.
• A $25 rescheduling fee will apply if party is rescheduled with less than 14 days notice.
• If cancellation is due to weather, the Y will reschedule at no charge or give a full refund.

SLIDE RULES    **Slides are only during the Play Pool Summer Operational months**

• Only one person is allowed down each slide at a time.
• Exit the landing zone immediately to the ladder closest to the slide.
• Do not swim in front of the slides.
• Must slide feet first on your back.
• Flotation devices are not allowed on the slides, with the exception of toddler slides.
• Wait until the person using the slide first exits the landing zone.
• When climbing the slide platforms only one person is allowed on each level.
