Water Safety Day

Water Safety Day will take place at both our Pickens and Powdersville Branches on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

At the Y, we believe the ability to swim is a critical life skill that every child should have the opportunity to learn. When you learn to swim, you gain confidence, acquire safety skills and experience water activities you can enjoy for a lifetime.

The Water Safety program will focus on two key components: safety around water and water confidence. Participants will also learn boat and watercraft safety and how to respond if there is a drowning emergency within natural waterfronts or recreational or community pools. Participants are limited to one registration during the event and pre-registration is required.
